Jetdro’s BBQ and Jambalaya in West Des Moines

The food was fantastic as always. And when the waitress learned that our family was visiting for the first time from Germany she told the manager who threw in desert for free. Our German family settled for the cornbread muffins! Fantastic food, fantastic staff! Thank you Jethro's! We will always bring our out of town guests to you!

Great food, except the mac n cheese. And terrible service. It could have been Jessica's first day, but that means she had zero training on how to serve. No idea how to talk to guests or grow the check. 99% sure she forgot to put in our order, as the next table sat got food before us. (We ordered the same food. Fried pickles and the Texas dip. Both very good.) No manager presence. And zero ambiance in the restaurant. Very disappointed. Not the experience I hope for when I eat out. No masks or gloves. If you fear covid definitely dont go.

Great place for our little group to meet up. As usual, the professional staff does a great job delivering service with a smile.

Food is excellent, the staff is friendly, good prices. I ordered the Papa Burger, a half pound juicy burger that came with lettuce, tomato, pickles and raw onions and I picked the Campfire Beans as my side. Great experience!

Amazing atmosphere, delicious food, and very nice servers. This was the first place my husband and I went after moving to the Waukee area from MN. Our server Lorissa was so kind, helpful and efficient. She answered all our questions and even chatted with us about the area. The food was phenomenal and we ended up going back the next day for lunch again! Highly recommend!

My server was AMAZING!! She gave me everything and anything I asked for and on time! She made jokes which during times like these is always great! She just made me so excited! Best experience ever! Food came fast and was pretty good, but my server made it all come together perfectly

Great place for consistently decent BBQ that never disappoints. We frequent this place, and have visited 20+ times. I love that you can get BBQ and Cajun dishes both with one entree! Portions are huge, so try splitting a plate of you don't want leftovers. Lots of sauces to try. Although they're always busy, the place is big so you rarely have to wait long. Service has always been great.

Very disappointed in Jethro's, as it used to be one of our favorites and our weekly go-to-place. However, the quality of food has diminished over the past year and the staff (especially bartenders) are not friendly. We had not been for months and decided last night to give it another chance... our mistake. I ordered the Creole Pasta with ‘extra’ chicken. No exaggeration, there was so little chicken, I had to search for it and the noodles were straight out of a Kraft box... or so it tasted. (A $15.00 dish, by the way) I intended to ask the waitress where the chicken was, but she never came back to check on us. I said nothing, as I have no intent of ever going back; we’re done with Jethro’s. Do so, at your own risk of mediocrity.

Awesome food and Very generous portions. Very good selection of food as well. Staff is very friendly and attentive. Prices are very fair. Love it!

Terrible. We went there for my mom's 80th birthday. It was her favorite restaurant. We were going to surprise her with an Elvis impersonator. The female at the hostess stand said they would not accommodate our party of 15. I explained to her about my mom's birthday and that we would like to sit in the patio area. She said she could not accommodate us. I said my sister had called ahead and approved it with someone. She said we don't take reservations or call ahead from customers. I said you are going to lose a lot of business; and she told me "sorry". I told her I am not the one that should be sorry and we left. I immediately called Granite City and they said they would accommodate us, even the Elvis impersonator, and to come right over. We went to Granite City and had a great time. They even bought my mom a birthday cake for all 15 of us.

I've been here a handful of times and it's been a little above average each time, nothing too great and nothing terrible. However today was well below average. We had a nine minute wait wasn't bad at all. After being seated, you must download an application on your cell phone to view the menu which I wasn't interested in doing so I got a paper menu but it doesn't have the whole menu on it, seems strange but whatever to have a printed menu without everything on it but whatever. After ordering it took 51 minutes for the food to come out and the food was cold so I'm not sure if our waitress was incompetent or the kitchen is pathetic, not entirely sure but I do know that this location has been going downhill for years now and I don't think I'll be back for another chance. I don't recommend Jethros.

The music selection provides an ambiance that is not a reflection of the clientale. Prices have gone through the roof. Great HH and good people, will be back, but certainly not as great as it was.

Holy cow, or pig rather...lol Super sized portions for the price. shared with the group and we all were so full after. Servers were great. Can't wait to go back

Best ribs I have had in awhile. Fun place to go with friends and family.

Excellent service from our waitress. The chicken wings were great. Carrots were old though. We had to ask for fresher carrots. They came back washed but still old. Sweet potato fries were lukewarm. We told our waitress and she Came back with hot and freshly made fries. Despite those two things, we still were pleased with our food and service.

Not a single employee wearing a mask during a pandemic. Thanks for helping spread the virus.

Love Jethro's. They have the BEST jambalaya EVER. Wish there was once closer. Have not ever had anything we didn't like. We get a meal to eat there and one to go since we live so far away.

I love Jethro's fried pickles! The food is terrific! The service is always excellent. Jethro's is always a positive experience.

Today our experience at Jethro’s was worthy of 2 stars. Food was good but I could not be fully comfortable while eating since it was probably the same temperature inside as it was outside— freezing!!! Also, it was pretty empty and they decides to sit us right next to the only other group in there.

Great food at decent prices. Very friendly staff. I'd recommend the boneless wings and the burnt ends. I've been to this location 5 times and havent been disappointed once.

Great food friendly staff, would give five stars but you have to ask for caddies at the table with BBQ and catsup in it.

Excellent food. Excellent environment. each time I go I get something different and each time I feel like I've found a new favorite. Prices are very reasonable when it comes to barbecue. It's a very open environment and floor plan. I keep going back and will continue to do so! I'm glad this is in the community.

This is my go to for lunch at least once a week! The staff is always attentive and friendly, and the consistency of food quality has always been there for me. They recognize regulars and remember your name.

Good place for casual meal with kids or fellow employees. Decent food good service. Wednesdays wing day my favorite.I go during there great happy hours. 1/2 price drinks 4 to 6 . It's not a place I would bring first date, can be loud and no booth seating. Pretty open layout like all there other locations.

False advertising offenceive to us carolinians that clame to sell Carolina bbq and nothing close to the real deal

Friendly staff. This was my first time eating here. I had the Boss sandwich and boneless wings with dry rub. Everything was delicious!

Really good BBQ! Had "The Jethro" sandwich...its a monster of a sandwich; the amount of meat was ginormous!!! Also had the boneless ribs (also super deluxe good); on Thursday, they're half price!!! Great ambiance and friendly service too!! I'll be back again. Thank you

This was an okay place. I ordered the wing combo with bone-in and boneless wings. The bone-in wings were really good, but the "boneless wings" were more like super-thin chicken cutlets covered in BBQ and were quite disappointing. The mashed potatoes and gravy were bland, and the apple sauce was very generic. Honestly my favorite part of the whole meal was the Texas Toast - two buttery golden brown pieces of thick toast. Service wasn't anything to write home about... all and all, it wasn't bad, but it wasn't good either.

We are new to Iowa from Michigan we try new places to eat every week this is by far one of the best places we have gotten food from. Being a carry out and even after the 20 minute drive/ wait to eat it was absolutely delicious. The chicken had so much flavor, and the burger was cooked perfectly best food around!!

This place is SO GOOD! We came for lunch and had the wings, baked beans, and jalapeno cream corn. The bartender JAMIE was the best. She was attentive, helpful, and kind. It was obvious she loves her job. Thanks to Jamie, we came back today to try her recommendations- the boneless wings. By far the best we have ever had. Jethro's is a must try!

Everything we have tried here so far has been superb. Waitress was super friendly and attentive, I had the jambalaya which was AMAZING but spicy, so waitress made sure my water glass never ran out. We’ll definitely be back.

This spot offers awesome service and delightful menu. My favourite place in town. The food and drinks came out quick and the prices were economical. Will definitely recommend this place.

Great food but lacks quality service. My side salad sat at serving area till my food was ready about 15 min most place bring those out when ready. They didn't ask me if I wanted another beer till they brought my food which is about 12 minutes after I finished the first one. I eat out almost everyday of the week and this is worst experience of the year. I've eat at place we're food don't taste the greatest but that may because I'm not use to that areas food but never had this bad of customer service but bar tender surely could text on here watch.

First time my husband and I have eaten at a Jethro's. Waitress was great. She explained the menu and answered all our questions. Food was wonderful. My husband ordered a whole slab of ribs and I just ordered a sandwich. Everything was excellent. Would recommend.

I've been to the original Jethro's over by Drake but, had yet to come to this one. I'm glad that I was finally able to go to this one. The service and atmosphere were both great. Our waitress was quite friendly and prompt. The food was phenomenal and I definitely didn't leave hungry. I will definitely be coming back to this Jethro's next time I'm in Des Moines.

Great food, service and atmosphere. As a lover of Cajun food, we came for the smoked meat and jambalaya. We were not disappointed! Cajun sampler pushed all the right flavor buttons- heat, smoke, and spice with an authentic version of red beans and rice, gumbo and jambalaya. The brisket platter served healthy portions of the smoked meat 3 different ways with accompanied sauces to unleash the flavor. Attentive service and extremely friendly comfortable environment.

First time visiting this exact location. Since I lived in and around New Orleans for about 2 years in another life I was curious as to how well Jethro's would do with their unique Jambalaya. Well I was pleasantly surprised how great this tasted. Some heat with great flavor and not too hot! Large portion so glad I was with friends who wanted to have great conversation with great food. Chessey Corn with jalapeno was really tasty! Overall Very impressed. Service was generally good, although took a while to get my sweet tea refill. Reasonable prices as well. We will be back!

Jethros BBQ is the shizznit!! U can never get enough of Jethro's BBQ. Took a trip to Kansas City today and while en route, had a taste for some BBQ. So we stopped for some Jethro's. I had a half slab rib dinner and my friend had the burnt ends dinner. Both platter were more than we expected. Food was great and the ambience was comfortable. The wait staff was excellent. Service was pretty fast and on time. My second time to a Jethro's BBQ and it was better a second time around. Love that BBQ!! Keep up the good work Jethro's.
